Very low thermal conductivity

This is the key requirement for an insulant, and the key property of polyurethane, which makes it the most effective insulation solution in many applications.

The very low thermal conductivity of polyurethane is related mainly to the essentially closed cell structure of the foam, which in turn depends largely on the blowing agent.

The declared thermal conductivity value of rigid polyurethane is typically down to 0,022 W/m.K.
